Miniture Making - 313 Somerset
I recently tried something completely different, a miniature-making workshop at 313 Somerset, and honestly, it ended up being one of the most relaxing things I’ve done in a while. I’d seen pictures online of people creating tiny cafés, bedrooms, and bakeries, and I finally decided to give it a try myself.
The whole experience is way more satisfying than I expected. You get a full kit with all the pieces you need, from the little furniture parts to the decorations, and the staff are super patient about helping you figure things out. It’s not too hard either, you can go at your own pace, and there’s something really calming about putting everything together piece by piece. It kind of feels like art therapy but with glue and tweezers.
What I liked most was how personal you could make it. You get to choose your design, mine was a mini café setup, and add your own touches to it. When it’s done, you walk away with something that actually looks really good sitting on your shelf or desk. It’s a cool reminder of the time you spent making it.
If I had to give one bit of feedback, it would be about marketing. I only found out about this experience while scrolling through Klook, but I feel like it deserves more attention. It’s tucked away in 313 Somerset and pretty easy to miss if you’re just walking around. A few more signs or even social media posts showing people’s finished miniatures would definitely draw in more curious shoppers, especially since this kind of creative, hands-on activity isn’t something you see a lot in malls.
Prices start around $25–$40, which feels fair considering you leave with a finished piece you made yourself. Whether you’re into crafts or just want something fun and chill to do with friends, this is one of those hidden gems in Singapore that’s worth checking out, especially if you love creative little details.
