PotteryPlease!: A Quiet Creative Corner That Feels Like Home

I stumbled across PotteryPlease! a little while ago, and I’ve been thinking about it ever since. It’s a cozy little pottery painting studio tucked in a quiet corner of Singapore, and walking in honestly feels like entering someone’s home studio. You’re greeted with soft music, mismatched shelves filled with ceramic pieces, and a kind of stillness that’s hard to find anywhere else.

I went on a weekend afternoon with a few friends. We’d originally planned to stay just an hour or so, but we ended up spending the whole afternoon there without even noticing how much time had passed. It’s the kind of space that makes you feel like you can slow down, no rush, no noise, no pressure. Just paint, coffee, and conversation.

There’s a shelf full of pieces to choose from—simple mugs, tiny trays, bowls, plates—each one just waiting to be made personal. I picked a little dish, sat by the window, and started painting without really thinking too hard about it. The whole thing felt very low-stakes in the best way. No one was judging, no one was hurrying.

When I picked up my finished piece a few days later, it looked better than I remembered. I’ve got it on my bedside table now, and every time I see it, it reminds me of that quiet afternoon and how nice it is to make something by hand, even if it’s not perfect.

What I really love about PotteryPlease! is how comforting it is. You don’t have to be good at art. You don’t even have to talk much. It’s a place where you can show up as you are, spend some peaceful time painting, and leave with something special that’s entirely your own.

If I had to give one bit of feedback, it would be that the booking system could be easier to use. Right now, it feels a little confusing, especially for first-time visitors. There are a few steps that aren’t super clear, and it might put some people off before they even walk through the door. A simpler, more user-friendly booking process (maybe even with same-day slots when space allows) could really help make the experience smoother from the start.

If you’re looking for a warm, slow weekend activity, or a thoughtful gift that’s handmade and personal, PotteryPlease! is such a lovely place to be. It’s the kind of spot you’ll want to return to, again and again.
